iTero Digital Impressions in San Pedro
iTero™ Digital Impressions – Fast, Precise & Comfortable
Our office is pleased to offer iTero™ Digital Impressions, a modern alternative to traditional putty molds. With this advanced technology, messy and uncomfortable impressions are no longer part of the orthodontic experience.
For patients who may be candidates for Invisalign® or other clear aligner treatments, precise digital impressions are critical for accurate planning and successful results. The clarity and detail captured with iTero scanning far exceed what is possible with conventional putty impressions, delivering a more reliable foundation for treatment.
The digital scanner captures detailed images of the teeth and surrounding gum tissue in just minutes. This non-invasive process is ideal for clear aligner therapy and eliminates the need for unpleasant impression materials traditionally used in orthodontics.

How iTero™ Digital Scanning Works
The iTero handheld wand creates a high-resolution, 3D digital image of your teeth. The process is comfortable and flexible, allowing you to breathe, swallow, or pause as needed. If adjustments are required, the scan can easily be refined without compromising accuracy.
As the scan is taken, the 3D image appears on the screen in real time, allowing both our doctors and patients to view the digital model instantly. Because the impressions are captured digitally, the need to retake scans is uncommon.
Rather than shipping physical molds to a lab, your digital scans are sent electronically and are typically available within Invisalign® systems by the next day. These models can be used across Invisalign services, including smile simulation tools that preview potential treatment results.
